Beauty in the world
Often born in an moment
But it comes from the long accumulation of energy
Ups and downs, breathing, rhythm
Let the rhythm turn into potential energy, so full of life and vitality, waiting to bloom in an moment
Heart-pounding

From "Poems of Immortal Wandering" by Guo Pu in "Literary Selections": "Although I wish to soar through the crimson streams, the Cloud Chi is not my steed."
From "Ancient Airs" No. 11 by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty: "I shall ride the Cloud Chi, absorbing the scenery to halt its radiant beauty."
From a poem by Gao Qi of the Ming Dynasty on "The Inscription of the Stone Wall at Huang Dachi's Heavenly Pool": "The pool births jade lotuses, their thousand petals shining scattered. In garments and food transformed, I roam the skies on Cloud Chi."

As the year ends and the clouds darken, a new cycle begins.
On the occasion of the 2024 Dragon Year Spring Festival and the 20th anniversary celebration of Shanghai Jiuguang Department Store, Shanghai Jiuguang collaborates with the well-known domestic young installation artist — Luo Ming, to bring a fantastical and rhythmically vibrant art "gift" to the locale.
The dragon, one of the traditional spiritual totems of the Chinese nation. What new visual forms can arise when traditional totems meet contemporary art? The "All Things Pursue the Light — Spirit Essence" art installation contemplates and initiates from this perspective. The installation, nearly three stories high, creates a dynamic of color transformation and non-traditional forms, soaring from the clouds into the air. It depicts a giant dragon ascending through the sea of clouds, moving between heaven and earth, its spirit shining in the light, bringing auspiciousness to all things. At the end of the year and the beginning of the new, it offers every viewer a grand artistic visual feast that transcends time and space.

Trembling Scales, the dragon.
Derived from:
"The Book of Changes · Explanation of the Trigrams": Tremor signifies the dragon.
Furthermore, the dragon is considered the chief among creatures with scales, hence named.
Tang Dynasty, Wang Bo's preface to "The Ode of Qianyuan Hall": Auspicious clouds weave through the well ropes, trembling scales inscribe the beginning of the auspicious Shuoyuan; the splendid fortune extends over the new frontiers, the hollow beasts chronicle the sequence of the harmonious years.
Work Description:
The artist offers a fresh interpretation of the mythical dragon's tangible form, illustrating the majestic dragon's tail-flicking motion in a golden pond, displaying the dragon's dynamic movement through the landscapes of heaven and earth.
The work, embodying a dynamic and vibrant form, showcases the strength and the radiant legacy of the dragon. It symbolizes the transformation of all things amidst change and flow, with the life force vigorously surging through time.
The dragon's head in the water and its tail above the surface resonate with each other, creating the stance of the dragon flicking its tail, providing boundless space for imagination.

The beauty of the world is often born in a moment, but comes from the long accumulation of energy. Just like the jellyfish floating in the ocean, every breath and inhalation accumulates and creates rhythm in the depths of the sea. And it is this simple breathing that turns the rhythm into potential energy, so vibrant and vigorous. I believe that we have not wasted a single second of the past three years, and we are accumulating the potential energy of life, waiting for the moment of blooming.

A fantasy about "tea and wine" fun and philosophical thinking
Tea and wine, drink water as a medium, drink water and live.
The same space is connected with two different states of movement and stillness.
One is crazy and free, growing outward, full of vigorous, determined, gentle and unyielding vitality.
The other is peaceful, revealing the frankness of watching the wind and moon, exuding a rational and quiet beauty.
The two are combined to balance the space in the box.

The installation is based on the theme of "waves", with spring-like peach color as the main tone.
The installation makes full use of the plasticity of paper art and the gradation of color.
With a rhythmic structure and color layers.
The rhythmic structure and color layers are used to show a picture of "flowers filling the islet, wine filling the ou, freedom in the waves".
A poetic painting of freedom and upward movement of waves.

The installation is bounded by the glass wall in the lobby of Luhu Art Exhibition Center.
It is divided into two parts: the tail of the kun and the wing of the roc, which are outside the glass wall, and the wing of the roc is inside the glass wall, with the visual impact of "entering through the wall" at the joint.
The concrete tail of the kun is transformed into the abstract wing of the roc, which goes straight to the sky.
It is just like the magnificent momentum of the Kun Peng.

I am naturally in the midst of the sea, larger than I am, hard to meet...
The water splashed by me is my friend, the water droplets I breathe out are my close friends...
I come alone, I go alone, I exist alone...
But one day, a light shines in, and I meet a cluster of flowers...
A miraculous encounter
It (the flower) suddenly grew in my eyes.
In my body.
In my world...
I still come and go alone, but I may no longer exist alone...

It may also be stripped
But, is it still a flower
It's hard for you to define

I always wonder, are we wearing a shell, are we resisting or are we disguising? Does it represent the real self? Does it really exist? How much of a connection is it to the self? ...I don't even know, I'm just exploring ......
If you see a darkness, it is indeed dark and silent.
If what you see is entanglement.
that it is indeed painful.
If you see it hovering, it is indeed poised...
If you see it, or if you don't see it, it doesn't matter.
What matters is that it is right in front of you.
It is there.

All the lush branches originate from those ancient roots buried deep in the soil. But once upon a time, they were also tender seeds.
In Chinese culture, the shade of the future generation and the love of the past are always complementary, and this is one of the fundamentals of the continuity of Chinese civilization. This is one of the fundamentals of Chinese civilization. What is implied in this is a kind of cyclical mood. It can be life, time, and everything. Of course, it is also Qionglai, the people of Qionglai.
Therefore, "tree" becomes the best carrier to express this mood. One end of the tree is deep into the earth, precipitating the ancient marks among the vicissitudes and changes; the other end points to the sky, relying on the past and giving a new life. It is like a bridge between heaven and earth, a bridge that connects the living life in the continuous upward continuation. Is this not the best explanation of the value of human beings themselves. And Qionglai people are also the vivid composition of this.
In front of our eyes, Qionglai is a history, it is like the root of the trunk of the tree under the heavy color of the strong roots.
And tomorrow, Qionglai will write the future, it is the top of the branches of the green, not only to glow this hot land, but also to be covered with miles, looking at the world!

The temperature of an individual is limited
But when solitary individuals converge into a group
there is an emergent effect that occurs
Individuals come together through a complex and regular system
Full of power and energy, they eventually become extraordinary lives that flourish.
The water of Lake Luhu is desirable and vibrant
And the fish that emerge under the lake also have their own energy
We hope to present the picture of the life of the lake, the islands and the fish
Presented in this artistic space
Through them
Feel the warmth of human beings when facing the cold winter
This power will give us the heat and hope of life ......

Go on, goodbye.
As the closing part of the series, the work "Elephant" echoes the work "Bloom". As the transformation of spirit and life, the tangible appearance of the elephant is expanded to the intangible spirit. The material of "Elephant" is recombined with the remaining material of "Bloom", which is a cycle and reincarnation like life, and the whole work is the artist's self-consistent closed thinking. From intangible to tangible, from abstract to figurative, from grand to subtle.

The snowflakes drifted by, and the camellia flowers moved with them.
The petals gather and disperse, like elves in the snow, bringing a splash of intense color to the boundless space.
The artist expresses the camellia petals through the folds of each piece of paper, and from a distance, the form of the camellia flowers converge as if dancing with the snowflakes.
The installation moves between "figuration" and "intention".
When the petals rise and freeze in the air, the artist has infused the work with an unending life force, such as the blazing heat in the cold night. When the viewer walks into the fluttering petals, he or she will become one with the work and become part of it.
They will become part of the work - the elves in the snow.
